St'ART 2019 PROJECT

Art Installation: "TRUTH"

23 Oct 2019 @12:30
2nd floor MSA Campus Belval University of Luxembourg
Picture
St’ART Promotion is delighted to present the project TRUTH signed collectively by three students enrolled at the University of Luxembourg, Alexandra Seeger (Bachelor student, Psychology), Anna Rebecca Unterholzner (Master student, Modern and Contemporary European Philosophy), and Rui Zong (Master student, Interdisciplinary Space Master), TRUTH is the result of a one year workshop in which their interdisciplinary backgrounds and critical minds contribute to the artistic and creative collaboration.

This collective art installation aims to invite visitors to face the truth of today’s deluge of fake news spreading in the online media landscape and to evoke response on the profound effects of source material manipulation on public discourse and political stability. The three student artists have transformed their ideas and statements into physical and artistic experiences, visitors are thus invited to dive into the fake news bubble jungle and to sense the uncontrolled and unpredictable pressure from unidentified disinformation. As presented by the drawing on the wall, massive amount of unreliable content spread via online media is drawing us to the centre of the vortex of distrust. However, the island of truth positioned in the middle of the space welcome visitors to escape and stand up to announce each individual’s own truth, the information thus distinguished and hopefully protected from the crowded bubbles.

Legends

Myths and legends
entwine around
a tiny little core
But as in the interior of the sun
That is the place
Where the most energy is being released

There is
Hope for
a good ending
An alternative
A parallel world
A scenario of
Cosmic density;
History is being reinvented and knitted
With our own knitting needles

Some might just see
A pack of lies
But for others
It is
A dazzling ray of hope
